Direct flights to start from Chandigarh to Chennai, Indore and more

In the present scenario, there has been a relaxation for airlines where many rules and regulations are uplifted.  A major part of this includes the resumption of international ad local flights.

Chandigarh is also prepared for its airline schedule of March where the green city will commence flights to Chennai and Indore.

In recent news, it was discovered that daily flights from Chandigarh to Dubai will also start in the next month.

If you are living in Chandigarh, you need not travel to Delhi to catch cheap flights to other states of the country. You can now enjoy direct flights from the newly built international airport.

Travelers are now free to fly from Chandigarh to Indore and Chennai directly. This implementation will come into force from March 27^th. This is also the beginning of the summer schedule and something every traveler should be aware of.

The news also states that no new international flight shall be added to the list until further notice. However, the Dubai flight that observed suspension during the Covid-19 peak stage, will be resuming from March 27 as well.

The IndiGoDubai flight that will fly daily will arrive at 4.25 evening and shall be leaving at 5.40pm. If you have been in search of a cheap flight, this is the right one. The flight’s single side fare is set at around ₹10,000.

For passengers who are not a fan of IndiGo, they can choose Air India to express which is operating from Sharjah to Chandigarh every week on Fridays and Tuesdays.

The international flights to Dubai were first started in the year 2016 when the ShaheedBhagat Singh Airport was given the international tag.

However, from March 2020 onwards, the operations were induced thanks to the Covid breakout. The first flight to be resumed normally was the one from Sharjah which was in December 2021.

If you are wondering about other places, there is good news. The airport is going to start direct flights to areas like Patna, Delhi and Mumbai. The flight numbers are also increased.

Authorities declared the release of an official memorandum describing the flights schedules and fares.

Chandigarh Airport is currently having all world-class amenities and it runs all round the clock. Flights come as late as 12.30 at night and depart as late as 1.15 am.

The official news was discovered in the statement issued by the Chief Executive officer of Chandigarh International Airport Limited, RakeshDembla. The statement read “We are adding two more new destinations from Chandigarh – Indore, and Chennai.

We had introduced the Indore flight in the 2021 summer schedule as well. But it could not take off due to the pandemic.

Also, the Dubai flight will be resumed and will operate on all seven days of the week. Even the Patna flight will be restarted,”

The total footfall at the Chandigarh airport had seen a huge decline from 10,000 per day to 6,000 with a 40% dip in a single year.

To cater to this loss, the introduction of new flights can pave the way for better results. By the end of the march, the local passengers might be able to reach to and from Chandigarh easily.

The main income of this particular airport is derived from the aeronautical department. Around ₹ 800 is charged by the airlines from a single passenger.

Some other revenues include retail shops, office areas, advertisements, branding, and vehicle parking. The total income was around ₹ 30 lakh per day before the Covid time.

Since things are getting back on track now, we can see the same income in a few months or even a rise in the numbers. Officials are positive and only time will tell where are we heading.
